Saturday, (still at Dad's house) we woke up and went to the DC temple which is only half an hour away. We didn't make a reservation so when we got there, we happened to be doing baptisms with a big group of missionaries and their recent converts! It was really neat to be there and help people understand the significance and answer questions for them, as this was the first time any of them had been yet. I love going to this temple because both times I've been there, I've been escorted through the main entrance of the temple, through the waiting rooms and past the mural and taken downstairs to the baptistry getting a mini tour of the inside of the temple.
After doing baptisms, I was getting ready again and a woman approached me who was there with her daughter for the first time and they were from West Virginia. It was really cool to get to talk with her and learn about how she had become active and married her husband who is now a bishop in Morgantown.

Saturday evening was the wedding for one of my best friends from college. This was the main reason for our trip home at this time, and it was so wonderful to get to see college friends and watch Sam marry her high school sweetheart. Their wedding was at a beautiful historic manor in Berryville, VA and I had the most handsome date.

Another best friend from college, Shanna, was the maid of honor.

SO happy we were able to attend.

I've come to the conclusion that I am officially old. This was determined when I got off the airplane at BWI and realized I was going to spend the entire 7 days I was home with my family and basically no one else. Before and after I moved to Florida, before and after I moved to California, and before I moved to Utah and this past Christmas, I spent my entire time at home trying to make sure I saw everyone that wanted to see me before I left. The result was a stressed out and tired me, and parents who felt I barely saw them the entire time I was there. I decided not this time!
Brian and I drove to Las Vegas on Wednesday night and stayed with his brother, sister-in-law, and niece and nephews before flying home to Baltimore on Thursday night. The following pictures are of us being touristy in Vegas and playing with the adorable niece and nephews.
Obviously we had to hit up a Bellagio Fountain show.
Corbin, Dylan, and Brian playing Wii.
 Baby Ella

Because I have picture overload from the 7 day trip, I'm breaking the posts up by day. Friday, Brian and I rode the metro into DC to do the tourist thing since Brian had never been.
First: The National Air & Space Museum

The Capitol was being worked on. Sadly it wasn't a very
pretty day on the National Mall with all the construction.
Fountains inside the National Gallery of Art's Sculpture Garden

My personal favorite: The National Museum of Natural History.
(Secretly I just love anything with giraffes and elephants).

 The Washington Monument
 Obligatory White House photo
Brian at the Washington state pillar at the WWII Memorial
(Washington is where he served his mission)
My favorite monument, the WWII Memorial

The outside of the Lincoln Memorial

 Visiting Abe

The beautiful view from the Lincoln Memorial of the Reflection Pool, WWII Memorial, and Washington Monument

At the end of the day, we took the metro to another part of DC to go to the National Zoo, always a crowd favorite.
I was stoked to see the elephants.

Another week has come and gone and I'm spending my Saturday like a lazy bum. Thursday and Friday of this week were spent at Lagoon and Pineview again, so I'm exhausted and using my normal "fun day" to lay around inside (despite the beautiful weather outside). Here's why.

Brian's older brother Kevin, his wife Amanda, and their kids are here visiting this week. Funny enough, Brian and I will be seeing them again Wednesday and Thursday when we head to Vegas before flying home from there for our Maryland/West Virginia vacation. Kevin and Amanda have three adorable little boys: Braxton (age 8), Corbin (age 5), and Dylan (age 2), and a beautiful baby girl, Ella (approx 7 months?).

Thursday, Brian and I, his mom and dad, Kevin & Amanda, their kids, and Brian's middle brother Steve, along with his three kids, all set out for a fun, sunny day at Lagoon. I keep thinking I've become a true Utahan every time I hit a new "typical Utah move," and going to Lagoon added to that. Seven kids, seven adults (assuming Brian and I are adults), and 11 hours later and I would say my first trip there was a success.
Sadly, the largest and newest ride, Cannibal, was not open yet, but Brian and I hit every other major roller coaster/ride in the park. Braxton decided he was old enough to ride all the big rides and said he wouldn't "wuss out" if he came with us, and he kept true to his word. The little guy is a real trooper and so much fun. Brian and I were the cool, fun adults because with us, he wasn't stuck riding the kiddie rides, and we treated him to his first Dippin Dots.

Dylan rode with us on the way there. He found some glasses in Grandma's toy bucket in the car and wouldn't take them off. He is too cute.

Brian, Braxton, and myself before riding Colossus the Fire Dragon. (Please excuse the fact that my hair was wet and blonde. Therefore I look bald).
Corbin and Dylan munching on some chicken. Approximately hour 7.

Friday was spent at Pineview Reservoir again and I have to say it's even more fun with all the kids. This trip, we were accompanied by Amanda's parents, as well as three of her nieces and nephews. The day was spent swimming, boogie boarding, boating, water tubing (not me again, I stayed away from that one), wakeboarding, eating, and sunbathing.
Brian says I officially won over all the kids after Corbin snuggled up and fell asleep on my lap mid boating trip, and Dylan crawled in my lap and clung to me for dear life while Grandpa Kirk took us on a crazy speed boat ride. It has been so fun getting to spend more time with them.
Uncle Brian and Baby Ella. Although you can't tell in this picture, Ella is the happiest baby I've ever met. She is always laughing and smiling and is so much fun. The boys all love her and it's so fun to see them play with her.
 Dylan, aka Spider Man.

Jaxton and Chloe get to ride on the boat with us all the time. They've become seasoned pros.
Brian and Kevin did some wakeboarding.

 Such a beautiful view.
 Are we tan yet?

I'm so lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful people! :)

This was our beautiful view all day Friday. For Brian's birthday, we went to Pineview Reservoir with his family for the day and went wakeboarding, water skiing, water tubing, and swimming. It was a perfect day, about 85 degrees out which made it warm enough to jump in and not freeze to death. Surprisingly the water wasn't too cold once you jumped in. I attempted water skiing for the first time and was almost successful, but for the first time in my life my feet were too small for the boots and my feet kept slipping out whenever I would actually stand up and start going. I'm absolutely determined to get it next time.
Funny story for you: I'm 99% positive I got a concussion while water tubing. Brian's dad was driving the boat and whipping us all over the place. Brian and I were in a two person tube, but because he's a good bit heavier than I am, my side of the tube was always sticking a bit out of the water and I was leaning on him the entire time.
After jumping a big wave which gave us at least 3 feet of air, we came down and I slammed into Brian's shoulder, almost wrapping my neck around it and smacking the side of my head. It hurt a little at first, but the actual pain that followed came the second time we went.
When we got back on the boat I was having difficulty seeing (black spots were all over my vision) and I got extremely tired. Brian said I passed out a few times on the way home, but I don't really remember. The rest of the weekend was complimented with a severe headache and neck pain, which caused me to suffer even more as I sat and watched Brian and 15 of his friends play paintball Friday night instead of participating.
This is another activity we'll be revisiting.
Below are a few more pictures of Brian being awesome at wakeboarding.
I didn't actually get any pictures of him in the air but that's what happens when you use a phone camera I suppose.

Saturday was a day filled with errands and outdoors. Saturday morning we went and helped Brian's aunt and uncle pack and move to their new home. That afternoon we went to Bountiful Park for an outdoor event put on by Nocea. For anyone that hasn't heard of the company, it is a local clothing company that was founded by two guys who grew up in Utah that promote healthy living and outdoor, active lifestyles. Two of the guys in Brian's singles ward are in a band called Ties For Tolliver and they performed at the event. There was cornhole, the ladder game where you throw the ropes with balls on the ends, giant jenga, football, volleyball, and a slack line.
For anyone interested in checking out the clothing line, their website is: http://www.nocea.us/shop/
Also, the singer from Ties For Tolliver, Austin Berenyi's music page: http://austinberenyi.bandcamp.com/

Saturday evening, Brian and I went to Roamer Park in Riverdale. There was a stage setup and lots of music and dancing until sunset, and then they put on an awesome firework show. I'm a big fan of fireworks and they're such a summery event. It was way fun!

And now... my big TA-DA of the week!
Sunday wasn't any less busy than the rest of the weekend because the stake RS devotional I've been planning for two months finally happened! Five sisters (3 singers, one pianist, and one violinist) from my ward performed the song "I Will Shine," a song written about a talk President Uchtdorf gave in the September 2008 Women's Satellite Broadcast. It was beautiful and really brought the Spirit to the meeting.
Below you'll find a photo of our speaker, Kari Rich, and myself. Maybe it's cheesy of me to have gotten a picture with her, but when I told her it was my first time ever conducting a meeting of any sort, she was shocked and said I had done an incredible job and it was even more impressive that I started with a stake-wide devotional.
Sister Rich spoke about how we are all given individual Christ-like talents, and we should never compare our talents to other peoples. At one point she said, "If we all had the same talents, we wouldn't need each other. We would all be the same and that would be boring. We should use our talents to compliment other people's talents and empower each other as daughters of our Heavenly Father."
Another one of my favorite parts of her talk was when she discussed how much we learn from our struggles and trials. She talked about how the book of Alma is roughly 160 pages of war and tragic things for 40 years, while 4 Nephi easily covers 200 years in one chapter because nothing bad was happening. She was an excellent speaker and perfectly set her talk around our theme: Power is in You, which we chose based on D&C 58:28.
Kari has two books out, "Heaven Help Us! A Humorous Look At Surviving Womanhood" and "Lighten Up and Laugh" for anyone who would like to check out her work!
Overall the devotional was a smashing success and I felt like a big deal sitting between our Stake President and Stake RS President. It was a lot of fun as well, and I'm finally able to breathe a sigh of relief that my part is done.
