Let's start off by talking about how surprised I was when Brian asked me to go out on Valentine's Day. I actually told him it was ok if we didn't go out or do anything because of the social stigmas attached to the commercial holiday. But he insisted that he wanted to see me this day just as much as any other, so he told me to be dressed and ready to go at 6 and he would have everything planned out... or so he thought!
He picked me up at 6 and we headed off to City Creek Mall. He had tried to do his homework and had asked my best friend, Jessica Fox, where was a restaurant in Utah that I had wanted to go for awhile, but hadn't actually been to yet? The funny thing was, Jessica got a conversation she had with her sister mixed up with me, and so Brian took me to Pizza Studio, a place I "had told Jessica I really wanted to go to." It was really yummy, but I waited until after we had paid and devoured half the pizza to tell Brian I had never actually heard of the place. I knew if I told him before that, he would insist we go somewhere else that I actually wanted to go to.
Next up: the aquarium! Apparently there is this really cool aquarium in Draper called the Loveland Living Aquarium, so we headed off to go see it! Brian had looked up what was going on there that evening, and they had Valentine's dinner packages where you purchased tickets and then wound up being in a big group for the evening and got to see the aquarium. Brian thought it would be more fun if we got dinner on our own and then headed to the aquarium... Only problem is, it wasn't open past 6 pm for anyone who didn't have the special dinner reservations hahaha.
I couldn't help but laugh. The poor guy tried planning out every perfect detail and nothing went as planned. We wound up driving up to my favorite temple (Draper) since Brian had never been and walking around, before heading back to my apartment and watching a movie. But it was perfect! I didn't know being with someone could always be so fun and make me so happy. My time with him is the best part of every week, and I'm so grateful he's willing to drive 45 minutes one way to see me. :)
